Member Benefits
For contractors, membership in the Greater Bay Area Association of Plumbing, Heating, Cooling and Mechanical Contractors provides a wide range of benefits.
An Alliance for Quality
Regular meetings of the membership give contractors an opportunity to learn about trends in the plumbing, heating and cooling industry. These meetings offer the opportunity for an interchange of views and promote a spirit of cooperation among members and between members and their employees.
Professional Development
Contractor professional development programs promote the establishment of sound business management practices. Through cooperative education programs and other allied efforts, the GBA works to develop business potential for member contractors. GBA conducts research regarding products, equipment, methods, management, business and business opportunities in the industry, and the improvements thereof. The association furnishes contractors with plumbing, heating and cooling trade and industry information data and statistics.
Ensuring a Dynamic Workforce
Technology is always advancing. To stay ahead of the curve in plumbing, heating and cooling expertise requires a commitment to training and education. The GBA sponsors apprenticeship and advanced journey-level training programs that are among the finest in the industry. Member contractors benefit from teaming up with local tradesmen and tradeswomen, ensuring a qualified available workforce of trained technicians.
Promoting Our Industry
Another benefit of GBA membership is working together to educate consumers regarding the advantages and desirability of having plumbing, heating and cooling work performed by qualified contractors. The GBA promotes sound economic conditions in the plumbing, heating and cooling industry, and represents the industry in the business community and with various industry councils. It also promotes fair and ethical business practices in all branches of the construction industry.
The Greater Bay Area Association of Plumbing, Heating, Cooling and Mechanical Contractors also encourages the adoption by government and contractors of contracting procedures that will foster open, competitive bidding for PHC industry contracts.
Activities of the Greater Bay Area Association of Plumbing, Heating, Cooling and Mechanical Contractors focus on what is needed for the "Good of the Industry" and what is needed to be an association that makes a difference.
Code Luncheon
Every three months, the association sponsors a "Code Luncheon." The luncheon is an opportunity for GBA Contractors and Building Inspectors representing 15 Bay Area Cities from San Francisco to Morgan Hill, County Officials and guests are invited to discuss new ideas and issues involving Building, Plumbing and Mechanical Codes and the construction industry. Existing codes, applications and other interests are discussed.
California Legislative Conference
